Wando-gun "Take Care of Your Health by Walking the Nampalanggil Trail"

Linking 'Healing Tourist Destinations' Such as Marine Healing Centers and Arboretums

Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 28th that it will operate a 1-night 2-day 'Nampalanggil Walking' program linked with wellness healing tourist sites such as the Marine Healing Center, Jeongdori Gugyedeung, and Wando Arboretum.

The Nampalanggil Walking program, which has been operating since last month, is currently attracting great interest from locals and tourists. Nampalanggil is the southern coastal section of the Korea Dulle-gil, which connects the east, west, south, and north of Korea. Among the 90 courses, Wando has courses 86, 87, and 88 (a total of 57.8 km).

Course 86 of Nampalanggil (24.5 km) runs from the old Namchanggyo Bridge through the Cheonghaejin Historic Site to the Wando Seaweed Center. Course 87 (18 km) goes from the Seaweed Center to Wando Tower, Jeongdori Gugyedeung, ending at Hwaheung Elementary School. Course 88 (15.3 km) starts at Hwaheung Elementary School and passes Sangwangbong Peak and Wando Arboretum.

In particular, the charm of the coastal road embracing the Dadohae (Korean Archipelago), the quiet paths through fishing villages, and the Dadohaehaesang National Park trails combining sea and mountains captivate tourists' attention.

This year’s Nampalanggil walking stay-type program requires walking one course of the Wando section of Nampalanggil over 1 night and 2 days, experiencing the Marine Healing Center, and staying overnight in Wando. Applications can be made through travel agencies.

A county official said, “Tourists’ interest in health and wellness is continuously increasing,” and added, “We will strive to establish Wando Nampalanggil as a representative stay-type tourism content linked with the marine healing industry.”
