‘MwolhaeDo Neun Moim’ is a project that supports youth to plan and operate meetings on their own and gain various experiences.
In this project, 19 youth captains selected in July led meetings around various themes such as △exercise △learning △hobbies △community activities for about three months together with 173 youth crew members, fostering connections and growth among local youth.
The performance sharing event was held in the form of presentations by three outstanding groups and an exhibition of participants’ achievements, providing an opportunity to share the passion and efforts of the youth involved in the project in one place. Through this event, the potential and sustainability of youth-led meetings in the region were also highlighted.
A youth participant said, “It was a special three-month experience connecting with youth from the same area who I wouldn’t have had a chance to meet in my busy daily life through common interests,” adding, “I hope such opportunities will continue to be provided to youth in the future.”
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok of Namyangju said, “We were able to see the growth of local youth through their experience of planning and operating on their own,” and added, “This meeting is a good example of creating a new community culture in the region through a process where youth actively participate, learn from each other, and cooperate.”
Mayor Joo also stated, “We will continue to provide more systematic and continuous support so that youth can demonstrate their capabilities in various fields and have a positive impact not only on their personal growth but also on the local community.”
