Busan Urban Corporation Receives Ministerial Commendation from Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy at 'Korea Energy Awards'

Recognition for Contributions in the Energy Efficiency Improvement Sector

Busan Metropolitan City Corporation (BMC, Acting President Park Su-saeng) received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Commendation in the Energy Efficiency Improvement category at the '2024 Korea Energy Awards' hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on the 18th.

The Korea Energy Awards is the largest domestic energy sector ceremony that honors individuals and organizations who have contributed to energy efficiency and the expansion of renewable energy adoption.

BMC was recognized for its contributions through various projects aimed at energy saving and creating an eco-friendly city, including ▲ installation of solar power facilities to expand new and renewable energy ▲ energy efficiency improvement projects for vulnerable groups ▲ construction of carbon-neutral green cities ▲ establishment of eco-friendly apartment complexes ▲ promotion of green building certification for public buildings.

Building on this award, BMC plans to actively pursue various energy policies for sustainable urban development and aims to strengthen its leading role as a public institution.

Park Su-saeng, Acting President of Busan Metropolitan City Corporation, stated, “This award is an external recognition of our commitment and efforts to create a sustainable future together with the citizens of Busan,” and added, “As a public institution, we will do our best to improve energy efficiency and achieve carbon neutrality goals.”
