8 Items Including Yeonghojinmi Totaling 97,980 kg
Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is accepting applications for rice certified seeds needed for next year's farming at the eup and myeon offices until December 20.
The rice certified seeds available are △mid-late maturing varieties: Yeonghojinmi (64.1t), Yeongjin (5t), Samgwang (0.1t) △mid-maturing variety: Haepum (4.8t) △early maturing varieties: Joyoung (4.9t), Haedamsal (11.5t) △glutinous rice varieties: Dongjinchal (4.1t), Baekokchal (3.4t), totaling 8 items and 97,980 kg, available for application in 20 kg units.
The supply price is scheduled to be finalized in January 2025, and the supply period will be from January 10 to March 31, 2025, through the regional agricultural cooperatives selected at the time of application.
Saechungmu will be allocated and applied for separately by eup and myeon depending on the secured quantity later, and for any shortages, farmers plan to use self-produced seeds and voluntary exchange seeds.
A county official said, “This year was a difficult year due to rice planthoppers, but we hope many will apply for the government-certified seeds, which are carefully selected varieties that reduce lodging and pests and diseases, have good quality, and are effective in increasing yield.”
Meanwhile, Haman-gun has selected Saechungmu and Yeonghojinmi as the public stockpiling rice for 2025.
