Group DJ DOC's Lee Ha-neul (53) has come under scrutiny for his negative reaction to Big Bang's G-Dragon's (36) new song.

On the 22nd, Lee Ha-neul posted a video titled "Time Capsule from a Week Ago. Uploading Concert Footage Immediately" on his YouTube channel 'Lee Ha-neul's Yes Show.' In the video, while driving, he said, "I will release a new song 'Geonbae' in February." He added, "It would have been better to release it earlier, but releasing an album while being investigated at the police station is awkward. Also, releasing a new song at the end of the year is meaningless."

He then mentioned new songs by junior singers. First, regarding BLACKPINK's Ros?'s collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars on 'Apartment' (APT.), he said, "It would have been a big problem if we had released an album at the end of the year. 'Apartment' is the biggest hit since 'Gangnam Style.'" He added, "I haven't even listened to the music released by other singers recently. I can't hear it." He also showed relief, saying, "Looking on the bright side, it's a blessing in disguise. We avoided 'Apartment' well."

On the other hand, about G-Dragon's new song 'POWER,' he expressed disappointment, saying, "I respect GD (G-Dragon), but it was below my expectations." He said, "I like all of GD's works," but added, "However, this time I thought, 'Even if we released an album together, it would be worth competing.' We have different styles."

Netizens who saw the video reacted unfavorably. They criticized that a senior in the music industry did not encourage a junior's comeback but instead exploited it to increase channel views. In fact, Lee Ha-neul also posted a short-form video mentioning G-Dragon, with the thumbnail containing the phrase "GD below expectations." Viewers commented, "Everyone is free to have opinions about songs, but the provocative editing is unpleasant," "G-Dragon probably doesn't even care about Lee Ha-neul's reaction," "Focus on your own music," and "Don't use GD for views." Following the controversy, Lee Ha-neul edited out the part mentioning G-Dragon from the video. The short-form video titled "GD below expectations" was also deleted.

Meanwhile, Lee Ha-neul was previously sued in September for spreading false information that Joobit Train habitually used drugs.
