The YouTube Works Awards, a global digital advertising festival, started in Korea in 2019 and marked its 6th edition this year. This award ceremony, which discovers creative and effective YouTube campaigns through data-driven judging, has established itself as a representative event highlighting innovation and creativity in the industry.
This year, winners were selected across a total of 11 categories, with two campaigns jointly winning in the Best Branding category, bringing the total number of awarded campaigns to 13. Notably, this year introduced an independent category called 'AI Pioneer' to celebrate the creative use and innovation of artificial intelligence (AI) in advertising marketing.
The Grand Prix was judged based on a criterion reflecting 50% marketing campaign efficiency and 50% creativity of the creative work, with the final decision made by the panel of finalists. The winning works received high evaluations in various aspects such as creative content production, innovative marketing strategies, and business performance-oriented approaches, further strengthening the competitiveness of the Korean advertising industry.
At the event, Kim Dong-gil, CD and co-CEO of Dminusone, Park Hyun-woo, CEO of InnoRed, and Jang Jun-young, Senior Vice President of Marketing Strategy at LG Uplus, participated in a panel session under the theme 'A Marketing World Enriched by AI.' Based on their expertise, the panelists discussed the changes and innovations AI has brought to marketing through various cases and perspectives, sharing in-depth insights on the impact of AI technology on campaign strategies and customer experiences.
Kim Kyung-hoon, President of Google Korea, said, "As rapidly advancing AI technology permeates our lives, remarkable innovations are also occurring in the marketing field. We will do our best to support Korean brands that challenge limits and actively embrace new technologies to lead global trends, so they can grow and be loved through AI."
