The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) announced on the 28th that it held the 'AMCHAM Insights' seminar jointly with Bae, Kim & Lee LLC at the law firm's headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 27th.

This seminar, themed 'Compliance and Risk Management,' was organized to provide practical response strategies for companies facing increasingly complex domestic and international regulatory environments. About 90 compliance officers from major domestic and international companies and organizations, including AMCHAM member companies, attended.
James Kim, Chairman and CEO of AMCHAM, said in his opening remarks, "In today's dynamic regulatory environment, strict compliance and effective risk management are not just important but essential for long-term success," adding, "We will continue to support companies in effectively navigating Korea's regulatory landscape and achieving sustainable growth."
Bae, Kim & Lee LLC presented talks by corporate compliance experts, sharing practical know-how, the latest trends, and strategies for responding to audits and investigations by regulatory authorities. Attorney Sangmin Kim addressed 'Korean Labor Law and Corporate Governance,' discussing labor law risks arising in subcontracting relationships and the legal responsibilities of CEOs. Attorney Jinwook Song, presenting on 'Compliance Insights and Management Strategies,' offered practical response strategies regarding serious accidents, the latest trends in Korea Customs Service investigations, and visa issues for foreign executives. Attorney Gyusik Kim provided strategic responses to Fair Trade Commission investigations, including practical strategies for each investigation phase such as on-site inspections, interviews, and digital forensic reviews.
Won Yonggi, a senior advisor who presented on 'Data-Driven Compliance and Risk Response Strategies,' introduced cases where meta-information and system usage traces obtained from corporate IT infrastructure were analyzed to identify signs of key personnel turnover and trade secret leaks, and explained specific methodologies to link these findings to effective follow-up compliance activities.
