Increased Career Exploration & Job-Seeking Motivation
The Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Branch Chief Kwon Gu-hyeong) and the Yangsan Youth Center Cheongdam (Center Director Park Hyun-gyeong) visited the webtoon and web novel production company ‘People & Story’ and the game content development company ‘Gonggam Orae Contents’ located in Gimhae on the 28th, together with about 30 isolated and reclusive youths residing in Yangsan.
People & Story is a content-specialized company that produces and distributes web novels and webtoons, and expands into various fields such as movies, dramas, games, and musicals based on the secured IP.
Gonggam Orae Contents is a company specializing in game development and education, as well as VR and AR content development.
This visit was organized to provide isolated and reclusive youths, who are experiencing social isolation due to difficulties in employment and interpersonal relationships, with an opportunity to explore career paths and increase their motivation to seek employment by visiting familiar game and webtoon production companies and directly experiencing the production sites.
This corporate visit program was established through the ‘Youth Future Job Connection Business Agreement’ signed with the Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Promotion Agency on October 22. The isolated and reclusive youths also had time to experience various content-related programs provided by the Gyeongnam Content Enterprise Support Center under the Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Promotion Agency, where these companies are located.
Branch Chief Kwon Gu-hyeong emphasized, “To enable the estimated 540,000 isolated and reclusive youths to become independent on their own, it is important to increase their motivation for work,” and added, “We will make various efforts to enhance job-seeking motivation and support employment, such as expanding company visits, providing work experience, and linking with the National Employment Support System.”
Center Director Park Hyun-gyeong also stated, “We will actively cooperate with the Ministry of Employment and Labor Yangsan Branch to strive for youth employment.”
