Focusing All Administrative Efforts on Fiscal Execution to Revitalize the Contracted Regional Economy
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is focusing all administrative efforts on fiscal execution to revitalize the contracted local economy amid prolonged high interest rates and high inflation, which have reduced consumer spending capacity and slowed economic recovery.
On the 28th, according to the county, a fiscal execution inspection meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy County Governor Jo Yeomun to review the budget execution operation directions and plans by department for the fourth quarter.
The county plans to minimize unused and carried-over budgets caused by compensation negotiations, delays in progress rates, and changes in project plans by ensuring that the 2024 budget is executed as planned where needed.
Additionally, except for unavoidable cases such as budget savings, the county will actively execute the budget within the year. In particular, social overhead capital (SOC) projects such as roads and construction will be completed as early as possible, and projects included in the supplementary budget will also be intensively inspected by project to ensure execution within the year.
Deputy County Governor Jo said, “Active fiscal execution by local governments is crucial to recover the contracted private consumption and revitalize the local economy,” and urged, “Please do your best to ensure that each department executes the budget to the fullest extent possible.”
