Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) conducted an advanced hospital exploration program three times on the 1st, 8th, and 15th of last month.
Advanced Hospital Exploration Program held for 3 days on November 1, 8, and 15 at Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital. Provided by Dong-Eui Science University
This program is an educational course designed for second-year nursing students to cultivate practical-oriented professionals and establish their professional identity as nurses.
This year's advanced hospital exploration was held at Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital (Hospital Director Kim Sung-soo), where participating students had the opportunity to listen to explanations about the new nurse training program and the nursing information system at Haeundae Paik Hospital. They also toured various departments such as the integrated nursing care ward, internal medicine and surgical intensive care units, emergency room, and outpatient center, gaining firsthand experience of the medical field. In particular, this exploration provided nursing students with an opportunity to understand the practical environment in hospitals and broadly recognize the role of nurses, serving as motivation for their growth as professional nurses.
Jang Yena, a second-year nursing student who participated in the program, said, “It was very good to have the chance to directly visit various hospital departments I had always been curious about, and I could imagine myself working in a clinical setting. The most impressive place was the internal medicine intensive care unit, where the dedication of the medical staff to patient comfort and the well-organized facilities and environment left a strong impression.”
Kim Yoon-ji, head of the Nursing Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, stated, “This advanced hospital exploration program was a valuable opportunity for nursing students to directly experience the hospital environment. We will continue to do our best to help students deepen their understanding of clinical practice and grow into future nursing talents.”
The Nursing Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, established in 2009, has continuously received 5-year accreditation through four cycles with the vision of being “the highest-level nursing department contributing to the promotion of future human health.” It was also selected as an excellent educational case institution in the '2019 Nursing College Practice Education Support Project' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
