Suspected Tree Fallen Due to Weight of Snow Accumulation
A man in his 60s died after being trapped under a tree while clearing snow at a detached house in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
At around 5 a.m. on the 28th, Mr. A, a man in his 60s who was removing snow in front of a detached house in Baegam-myeon, Yongin, was crushed by a fallen tree and died. The accident is believed to have occurred when a snow-laden tree suddenly fell over Mr. A's head.

Mr. A was transported to the hospital while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation but ultimately passed away.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, believing that the tree collapsed under the weight of the wet snow.

At around 3:25 a.m. on the same day, an elderly man in his 80s was trapped in snow at a residential vinyl greenhouse in Geumidong, Siheung, Gyeonggi Province. Fortunately, he was rescued in a condition that was not life-threatening. Earlier that day, at around 12:55 a.m., a residential vinyl greenhouse in Gwacheon City collapsed, and one resident was transported to the hospital.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, heavy snow has been falling nationwide since the previous day. The expected snowfall amounts for the 27th to 28th are 3?8 cm in Seoul, 5?15 cm in the metropolitan area, 5?15 cm in Gangwon, 5?10 cm in Chungbuk, 3?8 cm in Jeonbuk, 5?10 cm in Gyeongbuk, and 5?20 cm in Jeju Island.
