RaonSecure's Park Jong-won, Head of Strategic Planning, Receives '2024 Blockchain Merit' Minister of Science and ICT Commendation

Jongwon Park, Executive Director of Strategy Planning at RaonSecure, an IT security and authentication platform company led by CEOs Soonhyung Lee and Jeonga Lee, received the Minister of Science and ICT Award for Blockchain Merit at the opening ceremony of the '2024 Blockchain Promotion Week' held on the 27th at Sejong University Convention Center in Seoul.

Executive Director Jongwon Park was recognized for his contributions to the domestic and international dissemination and expansion of blockchain services by overseeing the strategy formulation and operational planning for the activation of key blockchain-based platforms and services owned by the company, such as digital ID, NFT marketplaces, and digital badges, earning him the Minister of Science and ICT Award.

RaonSecure has been building the Korean-style mobile ID (K-DID) system using its self-developed blockchain-based digital ID platform technology. It has implemented the country's first legally effective digital IDs, including the 'Mobile Driver's License,' 'Mobile National Veterans Registration Card,' and 'Mobile Government Employee ID,' and is preparing to launch the 'Mobile Resident Registration Card' issuance system for 50 million citizens this December.

Additionally, in the private sector including companies, organizations, and associations, RaonSecure is expanding its business scope to issue blockchain-based digital IDs for various mobile certificates such as the ISIC International Student Card, Korea Taekkyeon Association digital certificates, resident IDs, construction site laborer IDs, and medical licenses.

The company is also actively advancing overseas digital ID construction projects. Following the 2023 digital ID design consulting in Indonesia, it is expanding its overseas business by undertaking the 2024 Indonesia Integrated Digital ID Service Project and Costa Rica's public digital wallet development project.

Notably, RaonSecure recently open-sourced its OmniOne Digital ID technology, aiming to provide mobile IDs to countless people worldwide who are in ID blind spots, thereby contributing to human society and leading global digital ID standardization based on this vision.

Moreover, OmniOne NFT, the first utility marketplace introduced domestically, is the only platform in Korea where NFTs combined with pure gold from the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation can be purchased at the lowest price, thus revitalizing the blockchain-based physical NFT industry. The blockchain-based digital qualification certification service, 'OmniOne Badge,' is utilized by universities, public institutions, and companies for issuing digital qualification certifications such as educational credentials, awards, and licenses.

Executive Director Jongwon Park stated, "I believe this blockchain merit award represents all those who have actively utilized blockchain technology in identity and qualification verification areas to launch and efficiently operate platform services." He added, "RaonSecure will continue to contribute to the development of the blockchain industry through the advancement of blockchain technology and the development of differentiated solutions."

Meanwhile, the Blockchain Merit Award is presented annually at the Blockchain Promotion Week hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT. It is awarded to individuals and organizations, including public officials, academia, external institutions, and groups, who have made significant contributions to the promotion of blockchain technology and industry, aiming to spread domestic blockchain industry achievements and enhance public awareness.
