The Korea Software Industry Association (hereinafter KOSA) announced on the 28th that it will supplement its association vision and reorganize its structure to leap forward as a leading institution in artificial intelligence (AI).
The vision, which was previously composed of three promotion strategies, has added a strategy to "lead convergence and industrial innovation through artificial intelligence (AI) and software (SW)." Three new tasks were added: ▲promoting AI·SW convergence across all industries and expanding the association's support ▲playing a role in AI·SW private governance for national development ▲expanding support for startups as a cradle for AI·SW company growth.
The organizational restructuring focused the association's capabilities on promoting the AI industry and building national infrastructure. To leap forward as a leading AI institution, a new AI Industry Headquarters, including the AI Industry Division, was established, reorganizing into a total of 7 headquarters and 16 teams.
The newly established AI Industry Headquarters consists of the AI Promotion Strategy Team and the AI Diffusion Team. It performs functions such as preparing policies on AI industry promotion, safety, and ethics, including operating the Super Large AI Council, and creating an environment for AI development.
The existing Innovation Growth Headquarters was reorganized into the NewTech Growth Support Team and the Digital Innovation Team. It promotes projects supporting startups and establishing an ecosystem centered on Software as a Service (SaaS).
The purpose of this vision supplementation and organizational restructuring is to lead member companies and the creation of new markets and services in the era of AI innovation. At the same time, it focuses on strengthening the driving force for the policy of "AI internalization across all industries."
Association President Junhee Cho said, "In line with the launch of the National Artificial Intelligence Committee, we plan to establish a private promotion system so that Korea can leap forward as one of the top three AI powers," adding, "We will make 2025 the first year of AI internalization across all industries and strengthen competitiveness with the goal of serving as a global AI navigator for our member companies."
