Ilsan Unjeong Bethel Church Donates Over 100 Million Won in Hope Sharing Fund for Vulnerable Groups in Goyang City

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 28th that on the 27th, Ilsan Unjeong Bethel Church (Senior Pastor Park Kwang-seok) donated 100 million KRW in love donations and 1,000 kg of kimchi (worth 8.65 million KRW) to share citizen happiness.

The donation ceremony was attended by Mayor Lee Dong-hwan, Ilsan Unjeong Bethel Church deacons Kim Cheon-young, Kim Yong-beom, Oh Han-seok, Park Hyo-geun, as well as Kim Eung-hwa, president of the Goyang City Social Welfare Council, and 10 other related personnel.

The donated funds will be used through the Social Welfare Council to purchase rice processed foods for 1,000 households of elderly living alone and disabled people in the district, and to provide living support funds for 100 foster children.

Earlier, on the 21st, Bethel Church delivered 1,000 kg of kimchi (worth 8.65 million KRW) to 100 vulnerable households, including elderly living alone in Goyang City, through the Social Welfare Council.

Deacon Kim Cheon-young, who participated in the sharing, said, “We donated the funds to convey Christ’s love through service and sharing, and we hope that neighbors in the local community who need care can have a warm winter.”

Mayor Lee Dong-hwan expressed his thoughts, saying, “Thank you for taking the lead in practicing the culture of sharing in the local community, and I hope that the love for neighbors and support will come together to make Goyang Special City a place where happiness is shared together.”

Meanwhile, Ilsan Unjeong Bethel Church established the Bethel Church Maintenance Foundation to support churches facing financial difficulties and North Korean defector organizations, and carries out various social contribution activities such as medical missions.
