Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do to Host 'Ohohang Dorumuk Festival' for 3 Days Starting 29th
Experience Grilling Dorumuk, Dorumuk Trap, and Fishing Boat Boarding Activities

Goseong-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Ham Myeong-jun) announced on the 28th that it will hold the "2024 Oho Port Dorumuk Festival," centered on dorumuk, a representative winter seafood, for three days from the 29th to the 1st of next month at Oho Port in Jukwang-myeon, Goseong-gun.

The Oho Port Dorumuk Festival was first held in 2022, organized independently by Oho Village, and received great responses from tourists and local residents. Since then, with the support of Goseong-gun and the Goseong-gun Council, the festival has expanded annually and established itself as a representative winter festival of the region. This year’s festival created an atmosphere where visitors can freely enjoy dorumuk without an opening or closing ceremony.

The festival offers various fishing village experience events such as dorumuk grilling experience, dorumuk trap experience, and fishing boat boarding experience that families can enjoy together, as well as local cultural experience events like sea crafts and Seonghwangdang exploration. Additionally, it provides abundant attractions including busking performances and harbor song contests.

This year’s festival addressed shortcomings revealed in previous events by setting up the main festival stage on military-owned land near Oho Port, expanding the dorumuk grilling experience area and the event venue. Furthermore, a bridge connecting the event venue and main experience sites was installed to improve accessibility to nearby sashimi restaurants and shops.

Choi Ho-seon, Director of the Marine Fisheries Division of Goseong-gun, said, “We will do our best together with village residents and the administration to successfully hold this Oho Port Dorumuk Festival, promote dorumuk, a specialty of Goseong-gun, nationwide, and establish the festival as a representative national seafood festival.”
