US NHTSA Action... Free Replacement Underway
A defect in the rearview camera has been found in some Hyundai Motor vehicles released in the United States. U.S. authorities have decided to issue a recall for approximately 230,000 affected vehicles.
According to major foreign media on the 27th (local time), the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) took this action because the rearview cameras of the 2021-2022 models of Santa Fe and Elantra (domestic name Avante) were not functioning properly.
The total number of vehicles subject to the recall is 226,118. NHTSA stated that this recall will be conducted by replacing the rearview cameras free of charge through dealers.
According to NHTSA's recall report, Hyundai and Kia recently decided to recall 208,000 electric vehicles due to a defect in the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). The ICCU is a key electric vehicle component that controls battery charging and power.
