Busan Port Authority (BPA) has been selected as a recognized institution for community contribution for the third consecutive year.

In particular, BPA achieved the highest grade for two consecutive years, following last year, proving the excellence of its community contribution activities.


The Community Contribution Recognition System, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare, is a program that selects and acknowledges public institutions and companies that have contributed to solving community problems based on partnerships with non-profit organizations.


This year, 626 recognized institutions and companies were selected nationwide, and BPA achieved the highest grade, ranking in the top 1% among all selected public institutions and top 2% among all institutions and companies.


BPA has announced its social contribution brand, PORTner, meaning "a reliable partner with the community," and has been continuously carrying out various contribution activities to jointly consider and solve the issues faced by the local community.


Representative activities include ▲ Sharing refrigerator "BPA Hope Pantry" ▲ Welfare outreach projects targeting areas near the port ▲ Resource circulation projects for recycling waste materials ▲ Establishment of employee love-sharing funds and matching grants ▲ Briquette distribution and blood donation.

In particular, BPA Hope Pantry received high praise as a model social contribution project for other institutions during this recognition evaluation.


Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, said, "I am honored that the various social contribution activities carried out with the local community throughout the year have been well recognized," and added, "We will continue to listen to local issues and strengthen efforts for coexistence and cooperation."
