Making Gumi Cleaner... Promoting Proper Wastewater Discharge Methods

The Sandong Sewage Treatment Team of Gumi Urban Corporation in Gyeongbuk, together with Kyungwoon University, conducted an environmental campaign on the 21st aimed at creating a cleaner Gumi for students and local residents.

During the campaign held on the Kyungwoon University campus, they promoted proper household sewage disposal methods, such as informing students who frequently use disposable products that although wet wipes are convenient, they must be disposed of separately as they can cause damage to facilities like sewage transfer pumps. They also distributed eco-friendly scrubbers. Additionally, a survey regarding awareness and operation of the sewage treatment plant was conducted to use the results as a reference for future plant management.

Lee Jae-woong, president of Gumi Urban Corporation, stated, “We will take the lead in reducing the use of disposable products, including wet wipes that are recklessly used for convenience, and in properly disposing of household sewage to create a cleaner Gumi.”
