Hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and organized by the Korea Productivity Center, this awards ceremony was held in two categories: productivity measurement and excellent cases by sector, to improve residents' quality of life and enhance the productivity of local governments.

The excellent cases by sector category was divided into four fields: △Economy △Environment △Culture △Welfare. Among 359 cases submitted by 139 local governments nationwide, 12 final cases were selected as excellent cases through the first document screening and the second presentation screening.

The city was recognized as an excellent case in the welfare sector for ‘Namyangju’s New Donation Paradigm,’ drawing attention as a model city leading the donation culture.

‘Namyangju’s New Donation Paradigm’ is a case that established a system allowing any citizen to easily and conveniently donate at their desired time and method. It has been highly evaluated for overcoming the limitations of welfare centered on public institutions by connecting the private sector and civil society to spread a culture of sharing, thereby realizing a dense welfare network.

A city official said, “This award is the result of efforts made together with citizens to establish a Namyangju-type donation paradigm and revitalize the culture of sharing,” adding, “We will continue to create a sustainable virtuous cycle of sharing with citizens to realize a warmer welfare city.”
