The Art Museum Ryeo in Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 27th that it will hold an exhibition of works by the 2024 Art Museum Ryeo Academy students from November 29 to December 8. This exhibition will showcase 47 works by 45 students who have taken courses in contemporary minhwa, sketching, photography, watercolor, and oil painting throughout 2024.
Started as a pilot program in 2022, the Art Museum Ryeo Academy has established itself as the representative adult education program of Art Museum Ryeo as of 2024. Targeting adults who wish to learn art more professionally, the academy’s instructors, composed of leading artists from the Yeoju area, have guided students over the course of a year. As a result, photography students won numerous awards at the 2nd Yeogang National Photography Contest in 2024, and active club activities in oil painting and watercolor were carried out.
The dedicated efforts of the academy instructors, who are leading artists from the Yeoju region, and the students who have consistently and diligently attended each course, have poured their sincerity and passion into this year-end exhibition. We hope visitors will appreciate and encourage the stories of their effort and passion expressed through works from the five courses: contemporary minhwa, sketching, photography, oil painting, and watercolor.
As Yeoju’s representative public art museum, Art Museum Ryeo strives to expand the base of Yeoju art and broaden citizens’ understanding by expanding education programs tailored to different groups, including adults, families, young children, and marginalized groups (people with disabilities). Information about exhibitions and education programs can be found on the museum’s website.
Admission to the exhibition is free, and more detailed information can be obtained through the website and by phone.
