Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that the "2024 Visiting Children's Tax Classroom" has officially begun operation.
The "2024 Visiting Children's Tax Classroom" is a tax administration policy project aimed at fostering tax awareness by educating children, the future diligent taxpayers, about the concept and role of taxes.
The county selected four schools based on a demand survey conducted among elementary schools in the area, and the first lecture was held on the 26th at Sangri Elementary School.
The instructor, Im Jae-hoon, head of the tax administration team who is directly in charge of tax work on the front lines, used educational materials created by the officials to explain the types of taxes and what the county does with tax revenue, emphasizing the importance of diligent tax payment.
Additionally, through an OX quiz and the "Challenge! Sangri Elementary Golden Bell" event, active participation from students was encouraged, making the class more engaging.
Following the lecture at Sangri Elementary, the Visiting Children's Tax Classroom will be held at Baekhak Elementary on December 2, Daekwang Elementary on December 3, and Eundae Elementary on December 5.
A Yeoncheon-gun official stated, “The students’ response at Sangri Elementary was very positive. We will conduct interesting education at the three schools scheduled next and actively promote the importance of taxes and the meaning of diligent tax payment to children, the future taxpayers.” He added, “We will continue to develop and operate various policies to foster voluntary tax awareness centered on residents and to enhance trust in tax administration.”
