Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 27th that it is operating the 'THE Happy Merry Christmas' program for children under protection.

This program was planned to help 51 case-managed children, including those in foster care and post-return to original family care, spend a happy and warm year-end with their families.
The program involves child abuse dedicated officials, child protection officers, and abuse prevention police officers visiting the homes of the target children in person to deliver age-appropriate Christmas gift packages. Additionally, they check the child’s caregiving situation and confirm the safety of the home.
One child participating in the program said, “I received a special Christmas memory like Santa. I am happy to spend a joyful year-end with my family.”
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “Through this program, I hope children and families create happy memories and welcome a hopeful new year. We will further strengthen the protection system so that children under protection, the future generation of Pocheon, can grow up in a healthy and safe environment.”
