This project, in collaboration with Guri Middle School, provided health services using a mobile walking app for 57 first-year students from April to September over six months. A community was established to conduct walking health content twice a month alongside nutrition, physical activity, oral health, and smoking cessation programs.

Additionally, in July, health center professionals visited the school in person to conduct face-to-face health education.

According to the city, a total of 125 participants joined the 12 mobile walking challenges, achieving a 63% completion rate, and the satisfaction rate for the education was 95.1%.

The completion ceremony was attended by Lee Seung-hee, principal of Guri Middle School, physical education teacher Bae In-hyuk, health center project managers, and 12 students. Sports items such as sports socks, basketballs, and badminton rackets were awarded along with certificates to outstanding participating students and the excellent class, Class 2 of the first grade.

Kim Si-yul, a student selected as the representative of the outstanding class, shared, “During the six months of participation, there were times I felt tired and annoyed and thought about giving up, but it helped me form healthy lifestyle habits, so in the end, I feel glad that I participated.”

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “I thank the school administrators who supported this program wholeheartedly to ensure its successful completion,” and added, “I hope that through this activity, the students, who are the future generation, will take an interest in forming healthy lifestyle habits and continue to maintain them steadily.”
