Operation of Doducheon-si Dahamkke Dolbom Center Branch 2 Expected to Play a Leading Role in Elementary Care
Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyeong-deok) announced on the 27th that it will hold the opening ceremony of the Dongducheon Child Care Center, jointly established by Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province, and Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation, on December 2.
The Dongducheon Child Care Center was selected through the 2021 'Gyeonggi Province Vacant House Utilization Pilot Project,' and construction began with a groundbreaking ceremony in August 2023, with the occupancy approval completed on October 25.
In October this year, Gyeonggi Province, Dongducheon City, and Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation decided on a 20-year rent-free lease for the building, which enabled the city to save 95 million KRW annually in rental fees.
Dongducheon City operates the Child Care Center as the second branch of the Dongducheon City Together Care Center and signed a five-year consignment contract with Dongyang University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation to ensure stable operation.
The second branch of the Dongducheon City Together Care Center is established mainly in the old downtown area, allowing nearby parents to entrust their children with peace of mind, and is expected to contribute to resolving blind spots in child care.
Mayor Park Hyeong-deok stated, “I feel deeply moved to have completed this meaningful project together with Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation. The Child Care Center will provide the best services so that our citizens can safely entrust their children and participate in economic activities.”
