"Don't Drink, Smoke, or Cohabit"... Goryeong-gun Launches Public-Private Campaign to Improve Harmful Environments Around Schools After College Entrance Exam

Goryeong-gun (Governor Lee Nam-cheol) conducted a joint campaign on the 26th to improve the harmful environment for youth, focusing on busy areas such as school surroundings and nearby commercial districts.

This campaign was promoted to prevent deviant behaviors such as drinking, smoking, and cohabitation of opposite sexes among teenagers who were relieved from the tension after the college entrance exam, particularly in densely populated areas around schools and busy districts.

On this day, with the cooperation of the Goryeong-gun Youth Counseling Welfare Center and the 1388 Youth Support Group, a total of about 20 inspection teams were formed to strengthen inspections and crackdowns on acts such as selling alcohol and cigarettes to youth at businesses, and checking for harmful signage at establishments where youth entry and employment are prohibited.

Efforts were also devoted to preventive activities against youth deviant behaviors such as drinking, smoking, and cohabitation of opposite sexes at karaoke rooms, PC rooms, and lodging facilities.

Goryeong-gun stated, "We will strengthen joint public-private crackdowns and preventive activities so that teenagers, freed from the tension after the college entrance exam, can live in a safer environment without engaging in deviant behaviors."
