Daseomi·Poster, Exhibition Hall Established for Promotional Video Use
The (Foundation) 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo Organizing Committee announced that it is actively promoting the Islands Expo at the '2024 World Fisheries Forum' held at the Jeju International Convention Center for three days until the 27th.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and the Korea Maritime Institute, the World Fisheries Forum gathered officials from 30 countries, representatives of fishermen, domestic and international experts, and local fishing communities to seek cooperation measures and address common issues faced by fishing villages worldwide, such as climate change, population decline, and vulnerability to disasters.

The Islands Expo Organizing Committee decorated the exhibition hall using the expo mascot 'Daseomi' sculptures, posters, and promotional videos, and conducted promotional activities targeting visitors by giving out souvenirs. They also actively introduced the Islands Expo to overseas participating countries and worked on overseas attraction activities, including expanding international exchange networks and establishing exchange foundations.
Lee Jeong-jun, Head of Planning at the Organizing Committee, said, "Through this promotional activity, we have built a global network with island-holding countries and had an opportunity to widely publicize the Islands Expo. We will prepare without any setbacks during the remaining period and make it a successful expo."
Meanwhile, the world's first Islands Expo, the '2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo,' will be held from September 5 to November 4, 2026, across Jinmo District in Dolsan-eup, Yeosu City, the Yeosu World Expo site, and island areas including Geumo-do and Gae-do. It is expected to attract over 3 million visitors from 30 countries.
