This Sosabeol Branch is the third youth shelter established in the district, following the previously opened Cheongbuk Branch and Sinpyeong Branch. The area near the Sosabeol Branch is a cram school-dense region, so a play zone, book cafe, and board game cafe zone were set up for youth to rest or enjoy during their spare or free time. Operating hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. It is closed every Sunday, Monday, and on legal holidays.
About 30 people attended the opening ceremony, including Pyeongtaek Mayor Jeong Jang-seon, officials from the Pyeongtaek Village Education Social Cooperative, and Pyeongtaek City Council member Choi Jun-gu. Mayor Jeong said, "I hope the Youth Free Space becomes a place where young people can freely imagine and play."
