Kim Seung-su, a member of the People Power Party representing Daegu Buk-gu Eul, was selected as the recipient of the ‘Really Good Legislator Award’ on the 27th for receiving an excellent evaluation in the comprehensive legislative performance assessment.
The ‘Really Good Legislator Award,’ jointly hosted by the Korea Women Voters Federation and Maeil Broadcasting Network (MBN), is the only award ceremony in Korea that evaluates the overall legislative activities of National Assembly members elected by the people, recognizing those who have contributed to positive changes and conflict resolution in society and have focused on livelihood-related activities.
Kim Seung-su, who received the ‘2024 Really Good Legislator Award,’ has played a leading role as a member of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee in establishing the ‘Comprehensive Government-wide Measures to Eradicate Illegal Distribution of K-Content.’ He has also worked to protect the rights of industry workers and improve the creative environment by proposing measures such as the ‘Prevention Plan for a Second Black Rubber Shoes Incident’ and the ‘Nunu TV Prevention Plan.’
He has also worked to support cultural and artistic professionals in underprivileged regions with limited government attention and support, and to reduce the cultural and artistic gap between the metropolitan area and non-metropolitan areas. Additionally, he has served as the chairman of the ‘A+Festival,’ a cultural and arts festival for people with disabilities, for four consecutive years, striving to improve the treatment and protect the rights of socially vulnerable groups.
As the first bill of the 22nd National Assembly, he took the lead in establishing the national veterans system and improving the practical treatment of veterans and honorees by sponsoring the four bills to realize the veterans’ honor allowance and living adjustment allowance for veterans, national, and independence merit recipients who have devoted themselves to the country.
Kim Seung-su said, “As a National Assembly member representing the people and a member of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, I have worked to bring about positive changes in our community,” adding, “I will continue to work tirelessly with a heavy sense of responsibility to protect the rights of socially vulnerable groups and to create proper laws and systems for the development of the Republic of Korea.”
