Incentive of 25 Million Won... Utilization for LED Replacement in Apartment Complexes and More
Seo-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 27th that it was selected as the best local government among the five autonomous districts in Gwangju City’s evaluation of the ‘2024 Carbon Neutrality Practice Project,’ securing an incentive of 25 million KRW.
Seo-gu received high scores in evaluation categories such as ▲achievement rate of applications for temperature-lowering excellent apartments ▲updating rate of participants’ personal information ▲promotion performance, recognizing its efforts to realize carbon neutrality.
In particular, this year, together with the ‘Seo-gu Green Leader Council,’ Seo-gu directly visited multi-family housing and commercial buildings, and operated booths for promoting the Carbon Neutrality Point System and on-site registration at local events, leading to increased practical participation from residents. Various climate change response and carbon neutrality lifestyle campaigns were also conducted to commemorate Earth Day, Resource Circulation Day, and other occasions, receiving great responses.
Through these efforts, new subscriptions to the Carbon Neutrality Point System increased by more than 600 households compared to last year, reaching a total of 76,711 households, contributing to the activation of the system and the reduction of greenhouse gases.
The district plans to use the secured project funds for energy-saving LED lighting replacement projects targeting multi-family housing with excellent participation in the Carbon Neutrality Point System.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “This award is thanks to the residents who showed interest in energy saving and actively cooperated in practicing a carbon-neutral lifestyle,” adding, “We will continue to promote various policies for climate change response and carbon neutrality in cooperation with the local community.”
