The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced the results of the '2024 Private School Institution Administrative and Financial Management Evaluation' conducted on 170 private schools in the Gyeongbuk region on the 27th.
This evaluation focused on the performance of 20 key items, including the management of profit-generating properties of private school corporations and participation in major policy projects, with a particular emphasis on strictly assessing each school's financial management and performance.
As a result of the evaluation, the schools awarded first grade were Heunghae Middle School (Pohang), Pungsan Middle School (Andong), and Mungyeong Girls' High School, while 28 schools, including Pungsan High School (Andong) and Gimcheon Middle School, were awarded second grade.
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education plans to provide prize money to the excellent schools ranked first and second and award the Superintendent's Commendation to the top five schools to encourage them as exemplary cases of institution management.
Additionally, based on the analysis of this evaluation's results, a plan to improve the next evaluation in 2026 has been prepared. In particular, to prevent the concentration of budget execution at the end of the fiscal year and to induce a reduction in unused funds, a new item called 'Early Execution Rate of School Accounting' will be introduced. This is regarded as a measure to further enhance the efficiency of financial management.
Superintendent Lim Jong-sik of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education stated, "This private school institution management evaluation will serve as an opportunity to increase the responsibility and transparency of corporations and schools," adding, "We will continue to enhance the credibility of private school management through fair and discriminating evaluations."
