Announcement of Voluntary Retirement Plan at Management Briefing on 26th
Effective from 1/1 Next Year... Targeting Employees Aged 51 with Over 10 Years of Service
"Unrelated to KT Voluntary Retirement... Independently Implemented"
Following the KT headquarters, its subsidiary KT Skylife will also accept voluntary retirement applications from its employees.
According to industry sources on the 27th, KT Skylife announced a voluntary retirement plan effective January 1 of next year at a management briefing held for employees the day before.
Applications will be accepted from the 2nd to the 12th of next month, and employees of HCN, a subsidiary of Skylife, are also eligible to apply.
The voluntary retirement target includes employees born on or before December 31, 1973 (aged 51 or older) with more than 10 years of service. A company official stated, "Voluntary retirement will be operated solely based on individual choice," adding, "There is no set target number of applicants."
The voluntary retirement payment is reported to be up to 410 million KRW, with individual severance pay added. However, the company noted, "The amount of severance pay varies by individual," and "Specific conditions cannot be disclosed."
KT Skylife stated that this voluntary retirement is unrelated to the recent large-scale restructuring at KT headquarters. The company explained, "We are conducting voluntary retirement to improve the inverted pyramid workforce structure, respond agilely to market changes, and secure growth momentum," emphasizing, "This is independently implemented by our company and is unrelated to KT's voluntary retirement."
