The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (Kbiz) announced on the 27th that it held the '2024 2nd Cooperative Revitalization Committee Meeting' at the Kbiz headquarters in Yeouido.
The committee has been operating since 2015 as a body to identify institutional improvements for the development of cooperatives and to discuss policy tasks such as cooperative revitalization measures.
At the meeting, 14 members attended including Chairman Hanwook Lee, Chairman of the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam New Technology Business Cooperative, as well as Incheol Ryu, Chairman of the Korea Design Cooperative, and Heebong Moon, Chairman of the Korea Electrical Industry Cooperative.
The committee discussed topics such as the current status of institutional improvements for cooperative revitalization, the implementation review of the 3rd Three-Year Plan for Small and Medium Enterprise Cooperatives Revitalization, and the relaxation of cooperative establishment types and improvement plans for organizational types.
Additionally, they shared the direction for the '4th Three-Year Plan for Small and Medium Enterprise Cooperatives Revitalization' to be implemented next year and took time to listen to the voices from the field.
Chairman Hanwook Lee of the Cooperative Revitalization Committee stated, “2025 will be the year when the 4th Three-Year Plan for Small and Medium Enterprise Cooperatives Revitalization is newly implemented,” adding, “I hope that policies and systems will support the efforts on the ground to revitalize cooperatives so that they do not fade away.”
