The ‘Achievement Assessment System’ is an evaluation system focused on ‘what and to what extent students have achieved.’ It judges individual achievement levels based on set criteria and evaluates what students know and can perform.

This resource was created to enhance teachers' understanding and expertise in the achievement assessment system ahead of the full introduction of the 2022 revised curriculum and the high school credit system.

The video resource, consisting of five sessions, has been uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Gyeonggi Teacher On (TV) Secondary.’ The main contents include ▲the meaning and purpose of analyzing achievement assessment results ▲how to use the achievement assessment web app program ▲case studies of achievement assessment result analysis (1?3).

In particular, the case studies of achievement assessment result analysis are divided into ▲paper-based assessments composed of 100% multiple-choice questions ▲assessments composed of 100% performance tasks ▲paper-based assessments combining multiple-choice and essay questions. Each case study explains the analysis methods with various examples to provide practical assistance to teachers.

The Office of Education expects that the distribution of this video will help teachers understand fair evaluation methods based on individual students’ achievement levels and contribute to the substantial implementation of the achievement assessment system.

Kim Yoon-gi, Director of the Curriculum Policy Division at the Office of Education, said, “Unlike absolute evaluation based simply on scores, achievement assessment is a method that sets levels of attainment for achievement standards and evaluates accordingly,” adding, “We will support high school teachers in various ways so they can operate fair and accurate evaluations based on achievement standards.”
