"Shall I Give You My Number?" "Say Hi via Talk or Text"
Agency: "Actor's Private Life Area"
Actor Jung Woo-sung (51) has been embroiled in an illegitimate child controversy, with messages claimed to be exchanged with non-celebrity women spreading online.
On the 26th, an online community posted content showing Jung Woo-sung sending direct messages (DMs) to several women through his official social media service (SNS) account. When he first sent a message saying "Great profession," the recipient woman was surprised and responded, "You haven't been hacked, right?" Jung Woo-sung replied, "No. I happened to see your feed and thought you enjoy your work and are good at it, so I held back but decided to say hello." Afterwards, he sent a photo taken inside a moving vehicle and continued the conversation by talking about his shooting schedule. Toward the end of the conversation, he shared contact information, saying, "May I give you my number?" and "Let's greet each other via Talk or text."
He also sent a message to another woman starting with "I'm angry," followed by "I'm angry that it's hard to say hello and just looking at your feed. Nice to meet you." When the woman responded, "I was surprised," and "I'm very honored," Jung Woo-sung replied, "It's surprising that you believe me. Thank you for the message that took real courage." In response, his agency, Artist Company, reportedly stated, "Regarding personal SNS exchanges, it is part of the actor's private life, so it is difficult to confirm."
Previously, Jung Woo-sung was under scrutiny due to a scandal involving the birth of an illegitimate child with model Moon Ga-bi. On the 22nd, Moon Ga-bi confessed on her SNS account that she recently gave birth, saying, "As a mother of one child, I gathered courage to live enjoying a little more ordinary happiness." Two days later, entertainment media Dispatch reported that Moon Ga-bi's son is Jung Woo-sung's biological child. Jung Woo-sung's side acknowledged, "It is true," and stated, "We will fulfill our responsibilities as a father." However, they drew a line by saying, "We cannot confirm details related to the timing of the child's birth, whether Moon Ga-bi and Jung Woo-sung dated, or marriage plans, as these are private matters."
However, on the 25th, Ten Asia reported, "Unlike Moon Ga-bi, Jung Woo-sung showed a firm stance, saying 'marriage is not possible,'" and added, "Jung Woo-sung had been in a long-term relationship with a non-celebrity woman, who was shocked to learn about the existence of the illegitimate child," fueling the controversy. Additionally, an instant photo showing Jung Woo-sung in physical contact with a non-celebrity woman was leaked online.
