Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that it conducted the 2024 Private Rental Housing Management Evaluation and selected eight cities, including Uiwang-si, for their excellent administration of private rental housing.
The ‘Private Rental Housing Management Evaluation’ is a system that annually assesses the overall private rental housing operations of 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province, including civil service administration such as rental business registration, tenant rights protection, and the promotion of private rental housing policies, in accordance with the ‘Special Act on Private Rental Housing’.
Based on the evaluation results of quantitative indicators, the province plans to award commendations to outstanding public officials in Uiwang-si, Gimpo-si, Anseong-si, Anyang-si, Suwon-si, Pyeongtaek-si, Yongin-si, and Bucheon-si, which were selected as excellent institutions.
Uiwang-si, ranked first, received high evaluations for stabilizing the housing rental market and protecting tenants’ housing stability and rights through ▲ enforcement and inspection of rental business operators’ public duties ▲ promotion of the Housing Lease and Rental Housing Dispute Mediation Committee ▲ support for the formation of tenant representative meetings ▲ and improvements to the Private Rental Housing Act system.
In addition, various excellent policies were promoted, including ▲ Gimpo-si’s ‘Rental Business Operator Registration Manual Operation’ ▲ Anseong-si’s ‘Visiting Private Rental Housing Management Support Service’ ▲ Anyang-si’s ‘Resident Center Guidance Service to Prevent Duplicate Lease Contract Reports’ ▲ Yongin-si’s ‘Special Inspection on False Advertising of Unlicensed Private Rental Housing’ ▲ and Bucheon-si’s ‘Pre-Notification Alert Talk Service for Mandatory Lease Contract Report Compliance.’ The province will continuously encourage cities and counties to adopt these excellent policy cases and reflect those that have been adopted in next year’s evaluation.
Lee Eun-seon, Director of the Housing Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, “The Private Rental Housing Management Evaluation will not end with the evaluation itself, but we will continuously discover and share private rental housing management administrations tailored to regional characteristics so that the province and cities/counties can actively cooperate and contribute to improving the quality of life for residents.”
