Hana Securities predicted on the 27th that Lumir would benefit from the increasing demand for high-resolution imagery.
Seongho Kim, a researcher at Hana Securities, stated, "Lumir plans to launch LumirX, a 0.3m-class high-resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite, via SpaceX launch vehicle in the first quarter of 2026," adding, "They are also planning to launch an additional satellite in the fourth quarter of 2026."
He continued, "By 2030, they aim to gradually improve resolution and secure a total of 18 satellites," and added, "It is too early to discuss the likelihood of success, but the expected benefits upon completion are significant."
He explained, "Currently, leading SAR satellite companies include the U.S. company Umbra and Finland's ICEYE," and introduced, "The achievable resolution ranges from 0.25 to 1.5 meters."
Researcher Kim forecasted, "Generally, the new imaging cost of SAR satellites is significantly higher compared to optical camera (EO) satellites," and predicted, "Companies capable of achieving high resolution will continuously maintain their competitiveness."
He emphasized, "Lumir will enter the market with a lower price compared to global competitors," and "The demand for high-resolution imagery from potential customers is expected to continue."
Additionally, he explained, "Lumir is currently exclusively supplying solenoids for ship engines, which periodically inject a certain amount of fuel into the engine, to the domestic leading engine company H, expanding from satellite-related magnetic bearing reaction wheel technology." He added, "As forward demand increases, solenoid sales are rapidly growing."
