Actively Supporting Cooperation and Business Expansion Between Companies

The Korea Importers Association announced on the 26th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for accelerating economic cooperation between the two countries with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul on the 25th.

Through this agreement, the two organizations have agreed to actively support cooperation between companies and business expansion in various industrial sectors such as natural gas, semiconductors, and petroleum products.

The MOU signing ceremony was held on the occasion of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim's visit to Korea. The event was attended by key figures from both countries, including Jeong In-gyo, Director-General for Trade Negotiations at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Kwon Ki-chang, Executive Vice President of the Korea Importers Association, Tunku Zafrul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia, and Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, President of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation.

President Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz said, "We hope this agreement will strengthen the network between Korean and Malaysian companies and lead to closer economic cooperation."

Executive Vice President Kwon Ki-chang stated, "Malaysia is Korea's third-largest ASEAN trade and investment partner, and this agreement will serve as a new turning point for economic cooperation between the two countries. We look forward to the swift conclusion of the Korea-Malaysia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and hope that cooperation between the two organizations will further activate trade exchanges."
