Lee Jae-gang "Let's create measures through action"
Resolution adopted... "I will stand with Representative Lee Jae-myung"
The 'Deom-in-cho,' a group of first-term lawmakers from the Democratic Party of Korea, held an emergency general meeting and shouted slogans condemning "President Yoon Seok-yeol administration's excessive use of veto power." Although the meeting was arranged before President Yoon approved the third request for reconsideration of the 'Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act,' news of the approval was delivered during the meeting, prompting Democratic Party lawmakers to call for the passage of the reconsideration.
Lee Jae-gang, the chairman of Deom-in-cho, stated at the emergency meeting held on the afternoon of the 26th at the National Assembly Members' Office Building, "As first-term lawmakers began their initial legislative activities, we have been working hard to prevent the Yoon administration's destruction of people's livelihoods and regression of democracy," adding, "However, the Yoon administration shows no sign of remorse." He continued, "Now, it is the first-term lawmakers who must save the Republic of Korea," and explained the reason for convening the meeting: "We gathered to discuss measures to put into action through deeds." About 30 first-term Democratic Party lawmakers attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Democratic Party lawmakers shouted slogans such as "It is the people's command. Investigate Kim Geon-hee with a special prosecutor" and "Condemn the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's excessive use of veto power." During a free speech, lawmaker Lee Seong-yoon shouted, "Raise rice prices, bring down Yoon Seok-yeol." Following him, lawmaker Park Seon-won encouraged responses by saying, "When you shout 'Lee Jae-myung,' please shout 'Victory'."
Deom-in-cho adopted a resolution against the Yoon administration that day. In the resolution, they pledged, "Until the day we reclaim the people's sovereignty, first-term lawmakers will take the lead in the struggle and promise this to the sovereign people," and declared, "Together with Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, we will overcome any obstacles to the very end."
