"Advocacy for Public-Type Kids Cafes and 24-Hour Childcare Services"
Yoon Jeong-min, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council (Democratic Party, District La), argued during a 5-minute free speech at the 2nd regular meeting of the 327th session held on the 25th that "we must promote the health and welfare of the local community and form a local care community that grows together."
Councilor Yoon stated, "As the child-rearing environment is changing, there is a need to improve social infrastructure to support child care," and emphasized, "As alternatives, I propose ▲ the establishment of public-type kids cafes and ▲ the establishment of a 24-hour child care service operation system."
She continued, "The creation of public-type kids cafes that anyone can easily access, trust, and use will lead to social and cultural exchanges within the region," adding, "This will become an important community space within the local community and naturally form a care community."
Councilor Yoon said, "Looking at cases from various countries overseas, policies supporting work-family balance were effective in overcoming low birth rates," and stated, "I will work together with Seo-gu Office to create a child-rearing friendly society that minimizes the burden on caregivers."
