Career Counselor Day is an annual event organized by the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation to prevent burnout and strengthen the capabilities of career counselors at city and county job centers within the province. About 130 career counselors and related personnel attended to receive awards for their contributions and to share achievements and experiences of local job projects.

This year’s event, which expanded the previously regional workshops to include all city and county job centers in Gyeonggi-do, holds great significance as it strengthened networking among career counselors and created a platform for exchanging job information across regions.

The main programs of the event included ▲ Presentation of the Governor’s Commendation to outstanding counselors ▲ Awards ceremony for winners of the Job Center Operation Best Practice Contest ▲ Presentations of best practices ▲ Special musical performance on career counseling ▲ A keynote lecture titled ‘Dialogue of Connection’ by Jae-yeon Park (Director of Replus Human Research Institute) ▲ Networking among career counselors. In particular, the networking program received great response by providing participants with an opportunity to reflect on 2024 and share their vision for 2025.

Additionally, in the keynote lecture ‘Dialogue of Connection,’ Director Jae-yeon Park of Replus Human Research Institute shared methods such as ‘how to listen empathetically in a healthy way’ and ‘how to express uncomfortable words without discomfort,’ and communicated about the difficulties faced by career counselors.

Yoon Deok-ryong, CEO of the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, said, “This workshop was a valuable opportunity to express gratitude for the dedication of career counselors working on the front lines of employment services to resolve job mismatches, and to strengthen exchange and cooperation among city and county job centers. We will continue to do our best to revitalize local employment through projects and support that reflect the diverse needs of city and county job centers.”

Meanwhile, the foundation is focusing on enhancing the professionalism of career counselors and raising the level of employment services by expanding practical training that reflects changes in the recruitment paradigm, such as the use of generative AI.
