Seosan City in Chungnam announced on the 26th that it participated in the 19th Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition held at COEX in Seoul, showcasing outstanding local farm-processed products and receiving an enthusiastic response from distribution buyers and visitors.
This year's Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition, the largest comprehensive food exhibition in Korea, was held from the 20th to the 23rd, with participation from over 1,000 companies from 31 countries and attracting more than 50,000 consumers and buyers.
During the event, the city set up the 'Seosan City Farm-Processed Products Promotion Hall' and, together with five local enterprises, promoted over 30 excellent farm-processed products and held tasting events.
The processed products were produced by farms that completed the city's startup incubation education program and were manufactured at the Agricultural Products Joint Processing Center directly operated by the city.
In particular, rice ginger tea and traditional liquor made with local specialties such as ginger and rice, Harbor Chips made from shiitake mushrooms, and instant perilla seaweed soup from perilla-producing farms received great acclaim from visitors.
During the exhibition, the city held consultations with buyers and distribution vendors from 58 companies, including Market Kurly, Shinsegae, and Amazon, to pioneer new sales channels for local processed products.
Additionally, through internal discussions, the city plans to support marketing activities with distribution companies, contributing to increased income for farmers and entry into new markets.
Kim Gapsik, Director of Seosan Agricultural Technology Center, said, "This exhibition was a great opportunity to widely promote Seosan's excellent agricultural products and processed goods to domestic and international buyers and consumers," and added, "We will continue to actively promote and support our farmers so that these efforts lead to increased income."
