Daedong Hospital held the '4th New Nurse Independence Day' event on the 21st at The Party City Hall branch.
The Nursing Department at Daedong Hospital operates a six-month preceptorship program to help new nurses adapt well to the hospital environment and work, and to strengthen their practical skills.
This program involves experienced senior nurses mentoring new nurses one-on-one, providing education on essential practical knowledge and skills through a standardized training system, including ▲medication nursing ▲antibiotic skin reaction tests ▲clinical pathology tests ▲basic nursing ▲integrated nursing and caregiving services ▲diagnostic tests and nursing ▲fall, pressure ulcer, and pain assessment tools ▲and transfusion nursing. Through this, new nurses effectively acquire practical competencies and improve job satisfaction.
The event, organized to encourage 37 new nurses preparing to stand on their own after completing the six-month preceptorship program, was attended by Hospital Director Lee Kwang-jae, Nursing Director Jeong Mi-jin, nursing team leaders, middle managers, and the nursing administration education team.
In his congratulatory speech, Hospital Director Lee Kwang-jae said, “If doctors build the framework through diagnosis and surgery in the medical field, nurses are like the flesh and muscles that add meticulous care and warm attention, playing a crucial role in the patient's healthy recovery journey.” He added, “We will strive to create an environment at Daedong Hospital where nurses can gain rich clinical experience and strengthen their work capabilities to become partners who envision the future together.”
At the event, participants shared food and communicated, presented gifts and certificates to celebrate independence, and watched congratulatory videos prepared by each department, spending a meaningful time together.
Nursing Director Jeong Mi-jin said, “I am proud and proud of the new nurses who have done their best in their given roles through the preceptorship program,” adding, “We will continue to be a strong support to help them grow into skilled nurses with expertise through unwavering support.”
The Nursing Department at Daedong Hospital is currently recruiting new nurses for 2025 and has recorded a high competition rate with over 700 applicants. The hospital plans to actively foster talent to ensure patient safety and provide high-quality nursing services in the future.
