Yangpyeong-gun Hosts Winter Festival Full of Attractions 'Winter in Yangpyeong'

A Warm Winter Story Unfolding Over Two Months from December to January

Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) announced on the 26th that it will hold the winter festival "Winter in Yangpyeong," full of various events and attractions, for two months from December to January.

First introduced last year under the theme "Winter in the Countryside," this year's Winter in Yangpyeong will be held with the slogan "A Warm Winter in Yangpyeong." The festival, which showcases the warmth of Yangpyeong, will offer a special winter experience that warms both body and mind by connecting with local resources.

This festival features themes such as △Warm and Bubbling △Warm and Bookish △Warm Together △Warm and Sparkling, promoting Yangpyeong’s representative dishes, Haejang-guk and Sundae-guk, and includes a stamp tour linked with restaurants, libraries, bookstores, and pet-friendly accommodations. A special photo zone will also be installed in the outdoor plaza of Yangpyeong Library to enjoy the cozy winter atmosphere.

Various events for tourists will also be held. During the festival, "YouTuber Busking" events will take place throughout Yangpyeong, where anyone can participate by pre-registration. Participants who receive the most "likes" through YouTube live broadcasts will be awarded prize money. In addition, various social media (SNS) certification events are prepared, and tourists can receive souvenirs based on the number of stamps collected during the stamp tour.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for December 8 at the Yangpyeong Mulmalgeun Gymnasium. Programs for family visitors include a Disney musical gala show, magic performances, and various experiential events. On the same day, "National Karaoke," hosted by Yangpyeong-gun ambassador Son Heon-su, will be held at the Yangpyeong Market rest area, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Lee Se-gyu, Director of Tourism, said, "This festival is an event that tourists can easily visit and enjoy even in winter, and it will be an opportunity to widely promote the charm of Yangpyeong, which is a year-round tourist destination."
