Amid the revelation that actor Jung Woo-sung and model Moon Ga-bi have an extramarital child, male celebrities who have acknowledged the existence of extramarital children are being reexamined.

Kim Hyun-joong, formerly of the group SS501, had an extramarital first son with his ex-girlfriend Ms. A in 2015. After undergoing a paternity lawsuit with Ms. A, he acknowledged the existence of the extramarital child and is currently known to be fulfilling only the minimum responsibilities such as paying child support.

Actor Kim Yong-gun also caused a major stir by having a late-born extramarital child in his 70s. He married a non-celebrity woman in 1977, divorced in 1996, and has two sons, Ha Jung-woo and Kim Young-hoon. Later, Kim Yong-gun had an extramarital child with Ms. B, a woman 39 years his junior, with whom he dated for about 13 years starting in 2008. The case became public when Ms. B filed a complaint alleging that Kim Yong-gun pressured her to have an abortion. Eventually, Kim Yong-gun stated that he "expressed his intention to support childbirth and take responsibility for raising the child" and registered the child as his third son on the family register. Currently, Ms. B is in charge of raising the child.

Earlier, on the 22nd, Moon Ga-bi revealed on her social media account that she had recently given birth, saying, "As a mother of one child, I gathered courage to live enjoying a little more ordinary happiness." Two days later, entertainment media Dispatch reported that the son born to Moon Ga-bi is Jung Woo-sung's biological child. In response, Jung Woo-sung's side acknowledged, "It is true that he is the biological father," and stated, "We are discussing the best way to raise the child and will fulfill our responsibilities as a father." However, they drew a line by saying, "We cannot confirm details related to the timing of the child's birth, the relationship between Moon Ga-bi and Jung Woo-sung, or marriage plans, as these are private matters."

On the 25th, Ten Asia reported, "Moon Ga-bi wanted to get married and provide a family for the child, but Jung Woo-sung firmly opposed marriage." Along with this, they reported, "Jung Woo-sung had been dating a non-celebrity woman for a long time, and that woman was shocked to learn about the existence of the extramarital child," fueling the controversy over the 'extramarital child birth.' Additionally, an instant photo showing Jung Woo-sung in physical contact with a non-celebrity woman was leaked online, mainly on community forums. Jung Woo-sung's side maintained their stance, saying, "We cannot confirm this." Furthermore, although the agency initially announced that he would "attend as scheduled" the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony on the 29th, on the 26th they stated they were "reconsidering attendance due to concerns that the event might be affected by issues related to Jung Woo-sung."
