Operation of Comprehensive Water Supply Countermeasure Situation Room and Establishment of 24-Hour Emergency Duty System
The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 26th that it will implement a comprehensive winter water supply plan until mid-March next year to prevent pipe freezing and ensure smooth water supply ahead of the winter season.
Guri City plans to operate a comprehensive water supply situation room from November, when pipe freezing complaints are expected to peak, until March next year, and establish a 24-hour emergency duty system to respond immediately to various situations, aiming to promptly address daily complaints such as freezing and burst pipes.
In addition, an emergency repair team will be operated to ensure rapid restoration in case of water pipe freezing, and emergency water supply vehicles will be operated at all times to prepare for any water supply interruptions.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “We will do our best to thoroughly prepare for meter freezing and pipe bursts caused by the drop in temperature during winter so that citizens do not experience any inconvenience,” and added, “We ask each household and business to pay attention by insulating water meter boxes with old clothes to protect against freezing and pipe bursts, and to let water flow slightly during long absences.”
