Guri-si Holds 2024 Municipal Advisory Committee Capacity Building Workshop

Exploring Directions for Municipal Development through Communication and Harmony

Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 26th that it held the ‘2024 Guri City Administrative Advisory Committee Capacity Building Workshop’ at Jium Wedding Hall in Inchang-dong on the 25th.

The capacity building workshop, attended by over 40 administrative advisory committee members, was conducted in the order of expert lectures and a dialogue with the mayor.

First, Professor Kwon Seon-pil of Mokwon University gave a lecture on the topic of ‘The Position and Role of the Administrative Advisory Committee,’ presenting and discussing specific activities of the advisory committee for the development of Guri City administration.

Next, through a healing special lecture titled ‘FUN Leadership through Laughter and Humor’ by Jo Jeong-ho, CEO of the Korea Qualification Certification Education Institute, time was spent strengthening leadership as local leaders and enhancing harmony among the committee members.

Kim Jung-tae, co-chairman of the Administrative Advisory Committee, said, “Today’s lecture was a meaningful time to reflect on the activities of the administrative advisory committee so far and to consider the future roles of the committee,” adding, “As an administrative advisory committee member, I will take the lead in providing expert advice and suggestions for the development of Guri City.”

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City said, “I hope this workshop served as an opportunity to broaden the expertise of the committee members and facilitate communication,” and added, “I ask for continued generous advice and consultation so that various development projects promoted by the city, such as the construction of the Topyeong 2 Public Housing District Smart Green City, can be carried out in a direction that advances Guri City.”
