Goyang-si Wins Excellence Award at the 20th National Horticulture and Healing Agriculture Competition

Consecutive Achievements Following Gyeonggi-do Excellence Award in the Field of Healing Agriculture

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 26th that it won the Excellence Award at the 20th National Horticulture and Healing Agriculture Competition.

Hosted by the Rural Development Administration, this competition aims to enhance public awareness by discovering excellent cases of healing agriculture and improving the quality of life and emotional well-being of the people.

This consecutive award follows the Excellence Award in the Agricultural Resources Sector (Healing Agriculture) at the Rural Development Project Evaluation in Gyeonggi Province in February this year, once again recognizing Goyang City's healing agriculture sector externally.

Goyang City has selected healing agriculture as a pledge of the 8th local government administration to realize social value through healing agriculture, activating various urban agriculture initiatives, and is evaluated to have achieved positive outcomes such as stress relief, psychological stability, and physical health through healing agriculture programs.

In addition, by collaborating with medical institutions to identify various target groups and deriving scientific data on healing agriculture, it has a track record of winning the highest awards at domestic and international academic conferences.

A Goyang Special City official stated, “The consecutive awards are the result of recognizing the achievements of healing agriculture activities that Goyang City has carried out so far,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to improve the quality of life of citizens and create a healthy society through healing agriculture.”
