Promoting Mutual Growth Between Large and Small-Medium Enterprises
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups, together with the Win-Win Growth Committee, held the '2024 Win-Win Growth Week Commemoration Ceremony' on the 26th at the Korea Federation of SMEs.
The Win-Win Growth Week Commemoration Ceremony is an event jointly organized by the government and the private sector to promote win-win growth between large and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to enhance public understanding and interest in mutual cooperation.
This year's event was held under the theme "New Win-Win Growth Together, Korea Leaping Forward." It signifies the commitment to lead Korea's development through new win-win growth that benefits all parties involved.
About 200 people attended the event, including Oh Young-joo, Minister of SMEs and Startups; Lee Cheol-gyu, Chairman of the National Assembly Industry, Trade, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee; Lee Dal-gon, Chairman of the Win-Win Growth Committee; the President of the Korea Federation of SMEs; representatives from economic organizations; and individuals honored for their contributions to win-win growth.
In his encouragement speech, Minister Oh said, "If the past 20 years were a period of laying the foundation for win-win growth, now is the time to prepare for the next 20 years in anticipation of the future." He emphasized, "In response to recent changes in the environment surrounding our companies, the main actors of our economy?including large corporations, SMEs, venture companies, and small business owners?must develop into 'growing together' by complementing each other's capabilities."
Chairman Lee stated in his welcoming remarks, "Based on past achievements and experiences, we will strive to expand the role of the Win-Win Growth Committee to broaden the base of a new win-win growth culture."
At the Win-Win Growth Week Commemoration Ceremony, awards (a total of 87) were presented to individuals and companies who contributed significantly to win-win growth. These included efforts such as the expansion of the linked payment system for delivery payments, activation of win-win payment, increased contributions to the win-win cooperation fund, and the introduction of the performance-sharing system.
Kim Tae-eok, Executive Director of POSCO, received the Silver Tower Industrial Medal; Seo Gyu-seok, Vice President of Korea Western Power, received the Bronze Tower Industrial Medal; and Kwon Ki-seong, Executive Director of Kia, was awarded the Industrial Medal.
The Presidential Citation was awarded to individuals including Choi Young-gwang, Executive Director of Lotte Chemical; Yoon Jin-mo, Manager of LG Household & Health Care; and Jung Seok-hoon, Director of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority. In the group category, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, Busan Port Authority, Korea East-West Power, and Korea South-East Power were honored.
Meanwhile, as part of the Win-Win Growth Week events, the Day for the Expansion of Win-Win Payment will be held on the 27th, and the Performance Sharing System Best Practices Presentation will take place on the 28th.
