An unlicensed motorcyclist ran a red light and hit a pedestrian crossing the crosswalk, resulting in the deaths of both individuals.
According to the Masandongbu Police Station in Gyeongnam on the 26th, at around 9:41 PM on the 25th, a man in his 20s, Mr. A, who was riding a 320cc motorcycle, struck a man in his 30s, Mr. B, who was crossing the crosswalk on a road in Guam-dong, Masanhoewon-gu, Changwon City.
At the time of the accident, Mr. A's motorcycle was traveling from Changwon Station toward the Dongmasan Interchange (IC), and the pedestrian was crossing from left to right in the direction of the motorcycle after the crosswalk signal turned green.
After the accident, both Mr. A and Mr. B were taken to the hospital but both passed away.
The motorcycle rider, Mr. A, was found to be driving without a license.
The police are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident, including whether the driver was speeding or under the influence of alcohol.
