Busan Transportation Corporation "Citizens Directly Select Outstanding Innovation Projects"

Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byung-jin) announced on the 26th that it will hold the ‘2024 Innovation, Proactive Administration, and Collaboration Excellence Project Competition,’ where citizens vote directly.

The ‘Innovation, Proactive Administration, and Collaboration Excellence Project Competition’ is an internal contest held annually to select the project with the best performance among the management innovation projects promoted by the corporation throughout the year, providing incentives to the project departments and employees. Unlike previous years, an online citizen voting stage has been newly introduced during the evaluation process, allowing citizens to directly choose projects they have experienced and benefited from.

When voting, citizens should select projects based on how each project has impacted their daily lives and what improvements it has brought to the use of the urban railway. In the ‘Innovation’ category, voters evaluate whether new and creative technologies and systems have been introduced to enhance citizen convenience. In the ‘Proactive Administration’ category, they assess whether administrative services have been actively improved to resolve citizen inconveniences. The ‘Collaboration’ category focuses on whether positive outcomes have been achieved through cooperation with other organizations.

The online citizen voting will be held for nine days from November 25 to December 3 on the Busan Transportation Corporation’s website. Any citizen interested in Busan Urban Railway can participate, and each citizen can vote for two projects per category. Detailed information is available on the corporation’s website.

The corporation will combine the results of citizen voting and internal evaluations to select five preliminary candidate projects per category. Then, through the review of the Proactive Administration Committee, composed of proactive administration experts and local youth committee members, three projects per category will be selected. In this process, the corporation plans to realize citizen participation management by collecting diverse opinions from citizens and external experts.
